Is Semple Math Affordable?

The table below shows the cost of using the Semple Math Program with one, ten and twenty students. There are three cost columns. The first displays the total retail cost to buy all of the necessary materials at one time. The second column is the cost per year. Students will typically spend three years completing the program. Challenged students may require four or some cases five years. The third column shows the average cost per student for each year the student is in the program (assuming three years).

One student in a group of twenty will require about $26.00 worth of Semple Math materials per year for a three year period. At the end of the third year the mainstream to gifted students will be ready for any common, Pre-Algebra text. The remaining third of the student population will require an additional year (fourth grade) to finish the program. Some severely challenged students may stay with the program through a fifth year. In those cases no additional materials would have to be purchased during the fourth or fifth years. The students would simply work through the same materials at a slower pace. Virtually all of the students will achieve fifth grade level mathematics mastery for less than $26.00 per student per year.
