New Participants Starting Level One:
(Free Level One Set with three rounds of feedback)
We will be setting aside a number of 1st Edition Starter Kits for free distribution to new participants. They will be sent on a first come first serve basis after May 14th to Kindergarten and First Grade teachers only. Semple Math is best known as “the program of last resort.” That is because no matter how late in the game one finally turns to Semple...it works! Given the disadvantages of a discouraged student who has failed with the common programs for three, four, or even five years and is completely turned off to math, Semple Math will still turn the situation around every time if executed faithfully as written. We have won that battle at the “bottom of the bell curve” time and time again. If you have a student who is on his way to finishing elementary school with little or no math ability then you need to start your student in our program as soon as possible. In this second grouping of our 2007 Challenge Event we would like to invite teachers to use our program as it was originally intended. We want a first grade teacher to experience taking a student from minimal math ability to 5th grade proficiency in all aspects of addition by June. Stop the students from relying on finger counting. Empower the students with a thorough understanding place value. Help start the students on a path which “leaves no child behind!” We will welcome kindergarten and first grade teachers to try Level One of our program. participants will agree to provide three rounds of feedback periodically during the 2007-2008 academic year.
